The 2023 playoff teams:

AFC

1. Kansas City Chiefs (14-3) Mahomes throws for 5,250 yds and 41 TD's and is named League MVP for the second time in his career. It's official...The Chiefs are a dynasty with three Super Bowl appearances and two victories in five years.

2. Buffalo Bills (13-3) The Bills are once again the Beasts of the East, but suffer a disappointing 10-27 playoff loss at home to Cincinnati in the Divisional Round.

3. Cincinnati Bengals (12-4) The Bengals reach the AFC Championship where they go toe to toe with the Chiefs at Arrowhead for the second straight season. This time the Bengals fall 20 to 23.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8) The "light goes on" for former #1 pick Trevor Lawrence and the Jags are one of the most dangerous teams down the stretch. Jax defeats the Chargers 31-30 in the Wild Card round.

5. Los Angeles Chargers (10-7) The Chargers make the playoffs behind the incredible efforts of QB Justin Herbert and RB Austin Ekeler.

6. Baltimore Ravens (10-7) The Ravens, without Lamar Jackson, give Cincinnati all they can handle on the road in the playoffs. What's the outcome if Jackson is available?

7. Miami Dolphins (9-8) With Tua Tagovailoa at the helm, the Fins are one of the best offenses in the league. Unfortunately, multiple concussions force the QB and Miami's hopes of post season success to the sidelines.

NFC

1. Philadelphia Eagles (14-4) Jalen Hurts has an MVP-type season and leads the Eagles all the way to the Super Bowl where they take the Chiefs to the brink.

2. San Francisco 49'ers (13-4) Panthers running back Christian McCaffery is added at the trade deadline and proves to be a major addition helping the Niners advance deep into the playoffs. But an injury to the team's surprising rookie quarterback Brock Purdy, and then back-up Josh Johnson forces San Fran to play most of the second half against the Eagles without a QB.

3. Minnesota Vikings (13-4) The new "Cardiac Kids", Minnesota leads the league in comeback victories and wins the NFC North, but are stunned at home 24-31 by the Giants in the first round of the playoffs.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-9) The Bucs win the the NFC South with a record under .500, but the big story is the retirement of the G.O.A.T. Tom Brady.

5. Dallas Cowboys (12-5) The Cowboys produce an impressive 31-14 Wild Card road victory over Tampa, but can't get past the 49'ers in the Divisional Round.

6. New York Giants (9-7-1) Running back Saquon Barkley and QB Daniel Jones lead the G-Men to the playoffs where they defeat the favored Vikings on the road.
