THE 2023 SEASON:

The Texas Rangers (90-72) win their first World Series in franchise history defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks (84-78) 4-1. The ALCS and NLCS each sees 7 games with the underdogs advancing. The Rangers fend off the Houston Astros (90-72) in the AL, and the Diamondbacks survive the Philadelphia Phillies (90-72) in the NL. The other playoff teams include the Baltimore Orioles (101-61), Tampa Bay Rays (99-63), Toronto Blue Jays (89-73) and Minnesota Twins (87-75) from the AL. Along with the Atlanta Braves (104-58), Miami Marlins (84-78), Milwaukee Brewers (92-70) and Los Angeles Dodgers (100-62) from the NL. 

Atlanta's Ronald Acuna Jr. (.337-41-106) is named NL MVP, while "Shotime" Shohei Ohtani (.304-44-95 / 3.14 ERA, 167 SO) of the L.A. Angels grabs AL MVP honors. The Cy Young winners are Gerrit Cole (2.63 ERA, 222 SO) of the Yankees in the AL, and San Diego's Blake Snell (2.25 ERA, 234 SO) in the NL. Luis Arraez of Miami leads the MLB with a .354 batting average, while Atlanta's Matt Olson is this year's home run king with 54 dingers. 2023 sees the most stolen bases per game in 26 years. Esteury Ruiz of Oakland steals 67 in the AL, while Acuña's 73 thefts leads the NL and the entire MLB.
