Philadelphia (42-40) The Sixers average a whopping 121.9 ppg in the regular season, but Billy Cunningham and the gang run out of gas in the playoffs losing in five games to the Bucks.

Phoenix (39-43) Led by sharp-shooting guards Connie Hawkins and Dick Van Arsdale, the surprising Suns take the Lakers all the way to seven games in the semi's.
Laker great Jerry West leads all scorers with 31.2 points per game. Center Elvin Hayes of the San Diego Rockets tops the league with 16.9 rebounds per game, while Seattle Super Sonic's guard Lenny Wilkens is first in assists with 9.1 per game.
