THE 2021-22 SEASON:

Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side. After treading water for 12 seasons in Detroit, QB Matthew Stafford heads to the L.A. and leads the Rams to a Super Bowl title in his first campaign at the helm. The 2022 playoffs are ultra-competitive and provide many incredible moments that are sure to go down in NFL lore. The regular season is expanded to 17 games.

The 2022 playoff teams:

AFC

1. Tenessee Titans (12-5) The Titans earn the top seed but are upset at home 19-16 by the surprising Cincinnati Bengals.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (12-5) Mahomes and company outlast the Bills in a divisional round game that is already considered one of the greatest in NFL historyDespite the effort, the Chiefs are narrowly defeated at home by the Bengals in the AFC championship.

3. Buffalo Bills (11-6) Loss by coin toss? The Bills lose the overtime coin toss to the Chiefs and ultimately a potential shot at a Super Bowl run. As a result, the NFL changes the overtime rule going forward to allow both teams a possess the ball in extra time.

4. Cincinnati Bengals (10-7) The Cinderella Bengals are AFC Champions and give the loaded Rams a run for their money in Super Bowl LVI. The LSU connection of Joe Burrow to Rookie-of-the Year Ja'marr Chase proves to be lethal.

5. Las Vegas Raiders (10-6) Despite a turmoil-filled season, the Raiders make the playoffs. Derek Carr is really good, maybe better than we think?

6. New England Patriots (10-6) Belichick's back in the playoffs. Rookie QB Mac Jones impresses with his command of the offense.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7-1) The clock strikes midnight on Big Ben's career. The future hall-of-famer retires without ever having a losing season. T.J. Watt ties the single single-season season sack record (22.5) and is named Defensive Player of the year.

NFC

1. Green Bay Packers (13-4) Aaron Rodgers is named league MVP for the second straight season (and the fourth time in his career), but the Packers offense is frozen by the 49'ers at Lambeau in January.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (13-4) No repeat for Brady's bunch, but the ageless G.O.A.T. has one of the best seasons of his career at age 43.

3. Dallas Cowboys (12-5) After a very promising regular season, Dallas suffers another disappointing playoff exit.

4. Los Angeles Rams (12-5) The Rams find their missing ingredient in QB Matt Stafford and are Super Bowl champions for the second time in franchise history.

5. Arizona Cardinals (11-5) The win total keeps improving every year with Kyler Murray under center.

6. San Francisco (10-7) After two impressive road playoff wins against Dallas and Green Bay, the Niners fall just short of a Super Bowl appearance to the Rams in L.A. Deebo Samuel is a beast.

7. Philadelphia Eagles (9-8) Jalen Hurts leads the Eagles to the playoffs in his first full year as starting QB.
